Winter Reading List

Resolution #11: Read 30+ books.

Three weeks in and I haven’t read a book yet. But I’m trying! Here are some of the books I plan to read in the next few months.

Airborn by Kenneth Oppel
Les Trois Mousquetaires (The 3 Muskateers) by Alexandre Dumas
Wringer by Jerry Spinelli
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquirel

Most of these books have been on my shelf for ages and The 3 Muskateers is from the library. Airborn is the first in a series, and I’ve already read the other two; in high school we read The Kite Runner by Hosseini, so naturally, on to the next. Like Water for Chocolate is the translation of a well known Spanish book, Como agua para chocolate; and I read Wringer in the 6th grade and it was perhaps the most scarring book I’ve ever read in school. It’s about a boy who has to wring pigeons necks. Fun.

Any suggestions for the rest of the year? Leave me a comment!

I've read Wringer… but I don't remember it being about pigeons. It's been ages since I've read it though… I'd recommend looking at this year's White Pine books.
